Peshawar Blast: Death Toll Rises To 90; India Strongly Condemns Terror Attack

New Delhi: MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on Tuesday condemned the suicide bombing inside a crowded mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan that claimed more than 90 lives, as per Reuters.

“India extends its deep condolences to the families of the victims of the terror attack in Peshawar yesterday. We strongly condemn this attack, which has taken the lives of so many people,” Bagchi said.

According to local media reports, the blast occurred when a “suicide attacker” blew himself up in a mosque located in Peshawar’s Police Lines area during prayers. The suicide attacker was reportedly present in the front row during the prayer when he blew himself up.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
