Date:

On January 30, 2023, a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque in Peshawar, which left 100 dead and around 170 people injured. At the time of the explosion, there were around 400 people inside the mosque.

In the above context, the video of a blast is doing the rounds on social media claiming that it’s the recent attack in Peshawar.

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search, we traced the same video uploaded on YouTube, dated October 21, 2021, with a title: Factory boiler Blast on Lahore Multan road.

A video news report, dated October 21, 2021, also carries the same viral video at 2 minutes 43 seconds. The video description reads: “Samaa headlines 1 pm | Lahore mein Multan road per factory boiler phatne se aag lag gayi.”

With a keyword search, we found an article published on October 21, 2021, stating that two men died as a boiler of a beverage factory located at Lahore’s Multan Road exploded. Similar news reports were also published by Dawn, Daily Times and The News.

NewsMobile debunked the same video in 2021, when it was falsely shared as a serial bomb blast in Pakistan.
