FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral video, and found it to be false.
Looking closely at the video and running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, we found several videos on other social media platforms with the same claim. We found one comment Tweet on the viral clip, stating that the man in the frame is not the owner of Al Nassr, but a famous Arab sports journalist — Ibra Alfrayan. The user has also tagged the official handle of the journalist.
The journalist’s profile photo also matches the man in the viral video.
Searching further on Alfrayan’s profile, we found the same video uploaded on January 27, 2023.
Conducting a Google Keyword Search to confirm whether Alfrayan is the owner of Al Nassr, we traced a news article in Sporting news, dated January 22, 2023, and titled: Who owns Al Nassr? Owner paying Cristiano Ronaldo record salary to play in Saudi Arabia.
The article informs that the team is Saudi-owned and operated by the country’s royal family, and the president of the club currently is Musalli Al-Muammar.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video’s claim is fictitious.
