Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, we traced a tweet by Gorgeous4ew — an Arab media and news company, dated February 19, 2023. The video predates the news about the killings in Tamil Nadu, and the caption in Arabic indicated that the video might be from West Asia.
Conducting a Google Keyword Search, we found an article, titled: السعودية.. مشاجرة جماعية بين عدد من عمال البناء فوق سطح مبنى تحت الإنشاء (فيديو صادم) (English: Saudi Arabia. A group of construction workers quarrelling each other on the roof of a building below Creation (shocking video), published on February 20, 2023, in Al Hadath — an Arabic media and news company.
The article shows the same video, informing that the incident happened in Saudi Arabia when construction workers started fighting with each other using iron rods and fists. Many other Arabic news agencies like Yemen Now, Al Mashad Alan, and q8 press reported the fight, all linking the incident to Saudi Arabia as opposed to the viral claim of Tamil Nadu.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video showing Bihari construction workers being beaten up in Tamil Nadu is false.
