Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha, who was on a promotion tour for her web series “Dahaad,” which was recently released on Amazon Prime, opened up about a scene in Rowdy Rathore. When asked about a particular scene where the Akshay Kumar character holds her and says the line “yeh mera maal hai,” the actress said she would never do something like that today.
While giving an interview to film companion Sonakshi, she said, “Today, where I stand, I would never do something like that. I was so young at the time that I was not thinking in this direction. For me, it was a fact that I am doing a film with Prabhudheva; I am doing a film with Akshay Kumar; who would say no to something like that? Sanjay Leela Bhansali was producing it. Why would I say no? At that time, my thinking was very different. Today, if I were to read a script like that, I would not do it. Things change with time; I too have changed.”
Sonakshi added that she was the only one who received criticism for the scenes in Rowdy Rathore, and neither the writer nor the director of the movie were questioned.
“People used to always put the blame on me, and the woman is always the villain in a situation like that. Nobody spoke about the writer who wrote the lines, and nobody spoke about the person who directed the film. I was just like, “Shit happens; it is okay,” said Sinha.
Talking about her role in the upcoming project, Sinha said, “13 years after my debut in ‘Dabangg,’ where I played a cop-wife, I had the opportunity to mark my OTT debut as a cop with ‘Dahaad’.”
