Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have decided to part ways. As per media reports, the singer has filed a petition for divorce in Miami Dade County, Florida, citing that their marriage is beyond repair.
Joe and Sophie are parents to two daughters, born in 2020 and 2022, and Joe Jonas is requesting for their joint custody. Additionally, there is a prenuptial agreement in place, as per the legal filing.
The two began dating in 2016, and later got engaged in 2017. Joe Jonas shared the news with an Instagram post featuring Sophie Turner wearing her engagement ring, accompanied by the caption, “she said yes.”
Their love story continued with two wedding ceremonies.
In 2019, following their attendance at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had an impromptu wedding. They exchanged vows in front of a small gathering of close family and friends, officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator. This event came to light when DJ Diplo, who was a guest at the wedding, shared photos and videos from the ceremony. A representative for Turner later confirmed the marriage.
Later, the “Game of Thrones” actress and Jonas celebrated their love with a grand ceremony held at the stunning Château de Tourreau in the southern part of France.
After the wedding, Sophie Turner offered a peek into the celebration by sharing a black and white photograph of the couple. In the caption, she simply wrote, “Mr and Mrs Jonas.”
Additionally, Maise Williams, who was Turner’s co-star in “Game of Thrones,” reportedly took on the role as her Maid of Honor. Joe Jonas’s brothers and fellow band members, Nick and Kevin, were also present at the extravagant French event.
