Trudeau Declined ‘Air India One’ Service Offered by India, Chose to Wait: Report

Date:

New Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced a two-day delay in India due to a technical problem with his aircraft. According to media reports, New Delhi offered the use of Air India One as a solution. However, the Canadian delegation declined this offer and chose to wait for the backup.

Trudeau and his team were scheduled to depart India on Sunday evening after the conclusion of the G-20 event in New Delhi but ended up leaving on Tuesday afternoon once the replacement aircraft arrived.

The report comes at a time when relations between the two countries have been strained due to the Khalistan matter.

During their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Prime Minister Modi brought up the Khalistan issue with Trudeau and stressed the significance of mutual respect and trust as crucial elements for advancing their bilateral relationship.
