Colombo: India were 50 for two when rain stopped play in the third and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka on Friday.
The visitors lost two quick wickets as Ajinkya Rahane scored 8 runs while KL Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring just 2 runs.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli (14) and Cheteshwar Pujara (19) were at the crease when heavens opened up.
Meanwhile, India will seek to clinch their first series win on Sri Lankan soil after 22 years. Mohammad Azharuddin had last led an Indian team to a Test series win on Lankan turf, back in 1993, with a 1-0 margin.
