FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FALSE.

Doing a simple Reverse Image Search directed us to the Instagram handle of Hassan Ragab, an Egyptian conceptual artist and designer residing in California which featured the same viral image on December 24, 2023. The image caption states that the image is a digital artwork created by using AI and it is not a real photo.

We also found the same image published on Hassan Ragab’s official Twitter handle with a similar clarification that the image is AI-generated.

Reuters even reached out to Pest Control, the organization responsible for verifying Banksy’s artworks. They confirmed that the image is not associated with the artist.

Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral image is AI-generated and unrelated to British artist Banksy.
