Date:

A viral post claiming to show Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu standing in front of Modi with folded hands in the Delhi Metro is doing rounds on social media. Users are sharing the picture claiming it to be true.

You can check the post here.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found the claims to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the picture led us to a tweet published on June 30, 2023, on the official handle of Modi. According to the caption, the pictures were clicked on his way to a program at Delhi University. One of the pictures in the tweet matches with the viral image except for Naidu in front of Modi. This indicates that the viral picture might be edited.

Searching further, we came across a YouTube video published on the same day on the official channel of ANI  news. Here too, we can see Modi interacting with DU students while on his way to the valedictory ceremony of Delhi University’s centenary celebrations. He boarded the train at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station and deboarded at Vishwavidhyalaya. Here too, we cannot see Naidu anywhere in any of the frames.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu standing in front of Modi with folded hands in the Delhi Metro, is false.
