With a keyword search on Google, the NM team traced a Cricbuzz report, dated March 16, 2024 and clarified by the BCCI secretary that the entire IPL tournament would take place in India. The report dismisses the earlier speculations suggesting a potential shift to the UAE, due to the upcoming general elections. It is to be noted that while fixtures for the first 21 matches had been released initially, the BCCI is now anticipating to unveil the complete schedule for the tournament soon.
According to a report in the Deccan Herald, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has refuted speculations regarding the tournament being relocated to the UAE.
Speaking to PTI, Dhumal stated, “The IPL is not being shifted anywhere. We will soon announce the remaining fixture.” Thus, it’s asserted that the viral clip claiming IPL is being shifted to UAE due to the forthcoming general elections is misleading.
