Mumbai: Stockal is facing fresh allegations of unauthorised trading after another investor claimed that his brother suffered losses of nearly $1 million following the alleged liquidation of his US stock holdings through the platform.
According to a report by Moneycontrol published on November 4, 2026, the investor alleged that his brother’s portfolio was subjected to transactions that he had not authorised, resulting in substantial financial losses.
The investor told Moneycontrol that his brother had not been introduced to Stockal through HDFC Securities. However, HDFC Securities’ investment in Stockal was among the factors associated with his decision to use the platform, according to the report.
The latest complaint adds to concerns surrounding allegations of unauthorised transactions involving investments in US-listed stocks. The reported incident has also raised questions about investor safeguards, account security and the procedures followed when overseas equity holdings are liquidated.
Responding to the allegations, Stockal’s parent company maintained that its internal investigation had not identified any evidence suggesting that its systems were compromised.
The company’s position contrasts with the investor’s account of the alleged transactions, leaving questions about how the trades were initiated and whether any external access or other irregularities were involved.
The reported $1 million loss marks a significant development in the growing concerns over alleged unauthorised activity linked to the investment platform. The allegations also underline the importance of transparent transaction records, stronger account protection and timely grievance redressal for investors accessing international markets.
The claims remain allegations, and the circumstances surrounding the reported liquidation have not been independently established.
