The narrow lanes of the area are posing challenges for rescue teams. Videos from the spot showed debris scattered between adjoining buildings, while residents were seen clearing vehicles to make way for ambulances.
The incident comes days after two men, Chanderpal (60) and Vijay Kumar (33), died when two building slabs collapsed during construction in northeast Delhi’s Milan Garden area.
Earlier, on October 7, three people, including a child, died in a four-storey building collapse in Seemapuri, while eight others were injured.
Reacting to the latest incident, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj questioned the safety audits conducted by the Delhi government and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, asking why building collapses continue despite inspections.
The latest incident has again raised concerns over building safety in the national capital.
