Mumbai: A video showing Mumbai Police mercilessly thrashing two youth, including a girl, inside a police station went viral on social media. In the video, Mumbai cops are seen abusing and beating the couple while the girl screams for mercy.
According to Bombay Leaks, the footage is from Andheri Police station. The boy and the girl, who work at Mahindra Call Centre and are said to be a couple, were brought to police station over some issue.
In the video, woman officers are also seen slapping the girl many times. The cops can also be heard hurling abuses at the couple.
According to the website, Zonal DCP Vinayak Deshmukh knew about the video and assured the NGO, who recoded the video that action would be taken against the guilty cops.
The incident took place on November 2.
This is second video in two months exposing Mumbai Police’s brutality. Earlier two Muslim boys were beaten up by Bandra Police and asked to go to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against the cops.
