The Left Democratic Front (LDF) staged a protest in the Kerala Assembly on Monday, to press for the sacking of Excise Minister K. Babu for his alleged involvement in the bar bribery scam.
As per allegations, in ameeting chaired by Babu, a lower license fee of Rs 23 lakh was fixed, despite there being a proposal to hike the bar license fee to Ra 25 lakh.
Kerala Bar Hotels’ Association working president Biju Ramesh has alleged that Babu took a bribe to reduce the bar licence fee.
