Date:

With a view to promote tourism, two ‘Saraswati Express’ buses, one of them connecting Adi Badri in Yamunanagar district of Haryana with Delhi, will be flagged off tomorrow.

The bus from Adi Badri will be flagged off by Haryana Assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal and Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar at 6 am tomorrow, state tourism minister Ram Bilas Sharma said here today.

Since the origin of mythical Saraswati river has been confirmed in Adi Badri, the place has become famous in terms of tourism not only in the state but also in the country, he said, adding that the number of tourists visiting this place has been increasing day by day.

There is transport facility from Delhi to Yamunanagar, but in order to provide better services to tourists from Yamunanagar to Adi Badri, the state government has taken this decision.

Sharma claimed the existence of Saraswati river has been confirmed and the area is being developed as a mega project in tourism sector. The central government is also playing a major role in it. “Now, scientific institutions like ISRO and NASA have confirmed its existence,” an official release said, quoting him.

The second bus will run between Kala Amb and Sirsa. It will be flagged off by Minister of State for Renewable Energy (Haryana) Nayab Singh Saini.

The Tourism Minister said that on the pattern of Gita Jayanti, a decision has been taken to organise Saraswati Utsav in Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Kaithal.

In these functions, information would be provided by scholars about the Saraswati river and also literature would be distributed among people.
