Online system for transport dept in Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed the Transport Department to prepare an online system for the payment of all type of fee, taxes and other payments of commercial vehicles in the state so as to ensure transparency and check corruption.

CM, who was presiding over a meeting with the representatives of Transporters Associations of the state here, today said that the state government is committed to leave no scope for corruption in the delivery of public services.

It was informed in the meeting that the Centre has prepared software namely ‘Vaahan and Saarthi’ version 4.0, which has been circulated to all the states including Haryana.

He said this software is being customized as the per the state’s requirement with the assistance of National Informatics Centre (NIC).

The department was in the process and it would soon be finalized. This software would not only help in keeping a check on corruption but also facilitate the vehicle owners, he said.

While taking strict note of complaints regarding unprecedented delay in issuing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) of commercial vehicles despite of depositing required fee, the Chief Minister directed the department to take stern action against the contractor.

This is the gross misuse of the public money and it will not be tolerated, he added.

The Chief Minister was informed that the contract of HSRP was allotted to Link Utsav Private Limited Company in the year 2012 through tender.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the department to check the commercial vehicles registered in Nagaland and plying in the state.

He said it has come to the notice that 2006 model vehicles passed in Nagaland in 2011 were plying illegally in the state. He also directed the department that information regarding vehicle size like length, height and width should be mentioned in the Fitness Certificate being issued in case of commercial vehicles, so that the vehicles registered in the Haryana are not challaned in the other states.

He said that a new system of dealer point registration is also being evolved. He directed the department to take the matter with Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) regarding developing a Transport Nagar at Gurgaon and Faridabad.

Driving School was being opened in all districts so as to impart training in driving and also make the youth employable.

Haryana Transport Minister Krishan Lal Pawar, Additional Chief Secretary Transport SS Dhillon, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Gupta, Transport Commissioner Chander Parkash and representatives of Transporter Associations of the state were also present in the meeting.
