Woman slapped by expats in South Delhi

Date:

New Delhi: A 25-year-old MNC executive was reportedly thrashed by a group of Nigerians in South Delhi’s Amar Colony area, after she asked them to stop making noise outside her house.

The incident occurred on Monday, when some Nigerian nationals allegedly slapped and punched her face repeatedly, after a scuffle broke out between them.

According to a senior police officer of South East district, the incident occurred when the victim, who stays with her mother, returned home from her office.

“After reaching home at around 9 pm, the victim was talking to her friend over the phone at her balcony when she found the four Nigerian nationals screaming outside her residence,” the officer said.

The accused allegedly started misbehaving with the victim after she requested them not to shout.

“The victim got angry and stepped out of her home. She asked the accused to go away after stepping out of her home as they were creating a nuisance. However, the accused entered into a heated argument with her that turned into a scuffle,” the officer added.

The officer said locals came out of their homes after hearing the commotion, but no one came forward to her rescue.

However, she somehow rescued herself from the clutches of the accused and called the police.

“After receiving the call, a PCR van reached the spot and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. Police personnel posted at the Amar Colony police station reached the hospital and recorded the statement of the victim,” the officer added.

On the basis of the victim’s statement, a case was registered under Section 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and Section 34 of the IPC at the Amar Colony PS.

No arrests have been made so far in the case even after two days of the incident.
