Datsun rolls out GO+ in India at 3.79 lakh

Date:

New Delhi: Having gotten off to a modest start with its Go hatchback, Nissan owned Datsun, on Friday rolled out its second product, the GO+ in India.

The new hatchback is a sub-4 meter compact family wagon with a spacious interior and flexible three-row seating.

Launched in a total of four variants, D, D1, A, and T, the vehicle is priced in the range of Rs 3.79 lakh – Rs 4.61 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Go+ comes with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that offers 68PS of peak power and 104Nm of peak torque.

The car measures 3995mm in length, 1635mm in width and 1490mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2450mm. With the third row of seats, which are made only for kids, the car offers a boot space of 48-litres. But, it can be increased up to 347-litres by folding the third row of seats.

Datsun isn’t calling the Go+ a compact MPV but a compact family wagon given the last row of seating is anything but roomy. The company sold about 12,000 Go hatchbacks in the last 10 months, which is almost half the number of Altos that Maruti Suzuki usually sells.

The Datsun GO+ also boasts the best in class fuel economy of 20.6km/litre and the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) amongst its competitors. GO+ will be available in 5 colours – Red, Gold, White, Silver & Bronze Grey.

GO+ has received a complete makeover that not only sets new standards, but also creates its own market segment – the Compact MPV.  It is aimed at offering yet another alternative to price-conscious Indian buyers, thereby creating a new segment in the Indian passenger vehicle market.

Variant-wise prices of Datsun GO+ (ex-showroom, Delhi)

GO+ D – Rs. 3.79 lakh

GO+ D1 – Rs. 3.82 lakh

GO+ A – Rs. 4.15 lakh

GO+ T – Rs. 4.61 lakh
