Patna, Aug 17 (PTI) The flood situation in Bihar easedwith no district remaining under water, but the Ganga and fourother rivers are flowing above the danger mark in some placestoday. No district, block or panchayat was under flood waters,but the Ganga and four other rivers were flowing above dangermark in Patna, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Katihar and Siwan aDisaster Management department statement said. The Ganga river was flowing above danger mark in fiveplaces – Digha ghat, Gandhi ghat, Hathidah in Patna andBhagalpur districts and Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district. Other rivers which were flowing above danger mark werePunpun at Sripalpur in Patna district, Ghaghra inGangpur-Siswan in Siwan district, Kosi in Baltara and Kurselain Katihar district and Burhi Gandak in Khagaria district, itsaid. The flood waters have entered the riverine areas of Patnaand Vaishali affecting people living in villages of theseareas. The areas of Patna district which are affected by theflood water included – Maner, Danapur, and Bakhtiarpur andRaghopur of Vaishali district. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams withrelief material and medical teams have been dispatched tothe flood-affected areas. The measure was taken after an aerial survey today byDisaster Management Department’s Principal Secretary Vyasjialong the District Magistrates of Patna and Vaishali and ChiefEngineer of Irrigation Department, it said.
