Rani Laxmi Bai award for Sakshi for Olympic win: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Aug 18 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief MinisterAkhilesh Yadav today announced that the Rani Laxmi Bai awardwill be given to wrestler Sakshi Malik for her winning feat atthe Rio Olympics. "We congratulate Sakshi for wining the medal in theRio Olympics. Our government will give Rani Lakshmi award toher," he said at a programme at his residence here. The award comprises a bronze statue of Rani LaxmiBai, a scroll and a cash reward of Rs 3.11 lakh and is givento meritorious sportspersons who excel atnational/international level.
