Youth beaten to death in west Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 23 (PTI) A 21-year-old youth was beaten todeath while trying to intervene in a fight between his friendand a group of youngsters in Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi,police said today. Sushant had gone to help his friend Sunil Chaudhary, whohad picked up a fight with a group of youths at Shiv Vihar inUttam Nagar area around 7.30 PM yesterday, when he was brutallythrashed to death by the group, police said. Chaudhary had an argument with the group over a pettyissue which turned violent. He called Sushant for help whoreached there alongwith his cousin Rahul, a police officersaid. As he tried to intervene, the enraged group attacked himwith sticks, cricket bat and iron rods, the officer said. Rahul also sustained injuries in the attack. Later Chaudhary called police who rushed the injured tothe DDU hospital where Sushant was declared brought dead by thedoctors, he said. Sushant lived with his mother and a younger brother inRanhola village. His father had died in an accident five yearsago. A case has been registered at Uttam Nagar police stationand about six youths have been nabbed in connection with themurder. PTI VIT DIP SMNDIP
