Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman shunted out

Lucknow, Aug 25 (PTI) With Allahabad High Court breathingdown its neck, the Uttar Pradesh government today shunted outCEO of Noida Authority Rama Raman in a minor bureaucraticreshuffle involving two more IAS officers. 1987-batch IAS officer Raman was removed from his postand put on the wait list while Principal Technical EducationMonika Garg was given additional charge of the Noida Authorityas OSD, an official release said here. Besides these two, Joint Magistrate of Moradabad, HarshitaMathur, has been shifted to Ballia in the same capacity, itadded. The Allahabad High Court had seized Raman’s powers on July1 acting on a petition filed by Noida resident Jitendra KumarGoyal who had alleged that Raman had been holding three postssimultaneously for three years. Goyal was both the CEO of Noida authority and chairman ofNoida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities for thelast three years. The court had expressed dissatisfaction over the fact thatthree important posts were held by one bureaucrat for a longperiod and directed the Chief Secretary to take a decision ontransfer of Raman to some other post. The court had barred Raman from functioning as chairman ofNoida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities. On its orders, the Uttar Pradesh government on July 19,appointed Pravir Kumar as chairman of the three authorities.Raman, however, continued as Noida authority CEO. The court had later asked the state government if itcould shunt Raman out as the Noida authorityÂ’s CEO. On August 16, the state government had informed the highcourt that it had decided to retain Raman as CEO of NoidaAuthority as his services were required for the running ofnext phase of metro train from March 2017.
