Select copra drops on reduced demand

Mumbai, Aug 26 (PTI) Copra Alappuzha, copra Kozhikode andcopra Rajapur Mumbai dropped at the spices market here todayon reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid sluggishexporters offtake. Rest all other prices held steady in the absence of anymajor buying. Copra office Alappuzha and copra office kozhikode fell byRs 200 per quintal each to Rs 6,300 and Rs 6,200 fromThursday’s close Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,400 respectively. Copra rajapur Mumbai also declined by Rs 200 per quintalto Rs 10,300 as against Rs 10,500 previously. Following are today’s closing rates (in Rs with previousrates in brackets): Black pepper (per kg) 735/805 (735/805), ginger bleached(per kg) 150 (150), ginger unbleached (per kg) 170 (170),copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 6,300 (6,500), copraoffice Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,200 (6,400), copra RajapurMumbai (per quintal) 10,300 (10,500), copra edible Mumbai (perquintal) 7,700 (7,700).
