Bolero gun runners arrested

New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested three more active criminals including, a wanted kingpin of the active manufacturers and peddlers of illicit firearms made in  MP, Robin Singh.

According to reports, the firearms manufactured in Khargone, MP are witnessing a surge in demand amongst the criminals of Delhi NCR as the earlier hub Munger has been under strict watch of the agencies and a high number of Munger-based smugglers have been arrested over the past few years.

The team of Special Cell, under the supervision of ACP Manishi Chandra and led by Inspectors Subhash Vats and Govind Sharma, acted immediately on the input and laid a trap on the Nallah Road, near New Ashok Nagar Metro Station, a Bolero bearing registration number UP 81 AX-0250 was intercepted. The occupants of the car on sensing the police trap made efforts to escape but were overpowered and apprehended. 

The 3 accused travelling in the said SUV were identified as Robin Singh, Dharmender Singh and Inder Jeet. 

A total of 18 illegal pistols of 7.65 caliber, which were concealed in the cavity of the gate of the SUV, where the window glasses roll down, were recovered. 

The accused persons were produced before the court and their PC Remand was obtained. Thereafter, they were put to sustained interrogation. Accused Robin Singh, who was running wanted in two separate cases of gun running registered in PS Special Cell, revealed that since the last two years, he was in touch with various firearm manufacturers based out of Khargone and had procured over 250 weapons from them for onward sale in Delhi & NCR.
