‘Objectionable’ posters of Sandeep come up in Goa; AAP irked

Panaji, Sep 5 (PTI) The AAP in Goa today threatened tofile a police complaint after ""objectionable" posters showingsacked Delhi minister Sandeep Kumar came up across the statewith the party election symbol on it. Sandeep, an MLA from Sultanpur Majra in Delhi wasarrested last week on rape and other charges following acomplaint by a woman who purportedly figured in an"objectionable" CD with him. He was also suspended from AAPafter the scandal came to light. His posters were put up in Panaji, Margao, Ponda,Vasco and Mapusa markets besides other prominent places in Goawith "AAP for Women Empowerment" written on it. The picture of broom, which is AAP’s symbol, has alsobeen displayed on the posters. "I suspect BJP behind such acts. BJP rules and governsthe state (Goa). They should see to it that proper inquiry isconducted into such acts," AAP Goa Convener Walmiki Naik toldreporters here. The party will file a formal police complaint, Naik said. "AAP condemns such cheap tactics. "We won’t mind people criticising our developmentalwork or policies but someone stooping down to such a level isunexpected," he said. He said the resorting to putting up such posters"is the worst example of politics". AAP has began ground work in Goa for the upcomingAssembly elections where they will contest all the 40 seats. Sandeep, who is being interrogated by the police, hasclaimed innocence in the matter. The former women and child development minister hasbeen booked on charges of rape, transmission of materialcontaining sexually explicit act and taking illegalgratification. In her complaint, the woman alleged that around 11months ago, she was raped by him when she had gone to hisoffice in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri seeking help to obtain aration card. Sandeep was removed from the AAP government on August31 by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the CD purportedlyshowing him in compromising position with the woman surfaced.PTI RPS DKRT
