Five-year-old boy dies after falling off giant wheel

Pathanamthitta (Ker), Sep 9 (PTI) In a tragic incident atan Onam festival ground, a five-year-old boy died afterfalling off a giant wheel at Chittar, near here, police said. The boy’s 14-year-old sister was seriously injured as shetoo fell off trying to save her younger brother. The girl was hospitalised at Thiruvalla in the district,police said. The incident occurred last evening at the carnival centrewhen Alen (5) and his sister were sitting in a ‘jhula’, at aheight of about 30 feet from the ground, police said, addingthat as the wheel gained speed, the boy panicked and waseventually thrown off the ‘jhula’. His sister too fell off it trying to hold on to him. The two kids had come to the carnival along with theirparents, police said. PTI CORR JRK VSRC
