Chitrakoot to be developed as film destination

Mathura, Sep 11 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Film Vikas Parishad isplanning to develop Chitrakoot, known for its historicalsignificance, as a film destination to attract Bollywoodtowards it. "If the proposal of Film Vikas Parishad gets shape, theday would not be far when Bollywood stars like Salman Khan,Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor would be seen shooting in thearea," Film Vikas Parishad, member, Vishal Kapoor said afterpaying obeisance to principal deity of Daanghati templeGoverdhan today. He said it would be a ‘multiple-action plan’ aimed atdeveloping the infrastructure for shooting of the films;promoting the place an important tourism destination andgenerating employment opportunities for the people. "It would not only provide employment opportunities butwould also prove an important tool for promoting tourism asper vision of the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav," Kapoor said. He said he has asked officials to prepare a plan in thisregard. Kapoor said Kamadgiri and Ramghat falling under Chitrakootmay prove an ideal location for the shooting of the films. He said Parishad has also sought suggestions from Muslimsreligious leaders like Maulana Khalid Raseed Firangi Mahaliand Maulana Yasoob Abbas as the project will also generateemployment for youth from the minority community. "The spiritual leaders not only appreciated our proposalbut also asked us to prepare a road map for it," he claimed.PTI Corr AQS RGAQS
