The Bombay High Court had in March 2015 directed the The Bombay High Court had in March 2015 directed thecivic authorities to demolish all the illegal shrines that hadcome up in Maharashtra post 2009. Following a Supreme Court order, the state governmenthad issued a resolution in 2011, prescribing action regardingunauthorised religious structures in terms of regularisation,relocation or removal. In November 2015, it came up with another governmentresolution declaring action against all illegal shrines.
