CRPF chief discusses Kashmir situation in CM

The head of CRPF, which has been in the forefront of dealing with the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, today met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti here and discussed the prevailing situation as well as measures to ensure early return of peace and normalcy in the valley.

The Chief Minister and CRPF Director General K Durga Prasad discussed in detail the obtaining and emerging internal security situation and the measures to be taken to meet the arising challenges to ensure early return of peace and normalcy, an official spokesman said.

Kashmir valley has been witnessing unrest since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8.

CRPF has been in the forefront of dealing with the violence, particularly stone-pelting, in which thousands of its personnel have been injured.
