Guj: 8 dead in fire in Vadodara district

\ Vadodara, Oct 28 (PTI) In a tragic incident ahead of\Diwali, eight persons were today killed after a fire broke out\at a cracker shop in Rustampura village of Vaghodia tehsil of\Vadodara district, police said.\ As the fire started at the shop outside a two-story\building this evening and spread to its ground floor which had\a cutlery shop, people ran up to the building\\’s first floor to\take shelter.\ However, a gas cylinder exploded due to the fire, causing\a wall of a room on the first floor to collapse, said Bhargav\Vyas, deputy chief fire officer, Vadodara Municipal\Corporation.\ The victims were trapped under the debris, he said.\ Vadodara (rural) SP Saurabh Tolumbia told PTI that police\and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the\fire under control\ Relief was being provided to those injured, he said.
