At least 17 housing projects have been scraped by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA),which is responsible for real estate and infrastructure development along the Yamuna Expressway, after it was revealed that these projects lacked several safety parameters.

Arun Vir Singh, the chief executive officer of YEIDA confirmed and said that he had asked the builders for clarifications over the building plans between 2014 and 2016. Reports said that they builders were given 90 days to respond. And if they failed to report back, their projects were cancelled.

Seven Jaypee Infratech projects are among the 17 that have been cancelled. Jaypee Infratech is part of Jaypee Group which is developing at least 30,000 projects in Noida and Greater Noida. Other projects that have been scraped include Ajnara, JPSI, Oriss and Urbania.
