Date:

London: A new research has revealed that the firm handshake of people can tell how likely they are to survive severe illness such as cancer.

All it requires is minimal equipment called dynamometer and the method of evaluation is both portable and practical, the Daily Express reported.

Professor Robert Kilgour, of Concordia, said this measure is one of several to categorize patients according to the severity of their disease and it can help determine interventions they may need, whether clinical, nutritional or functional boosting both the physical and mental health.

He further suggested that grip test could help all categories of patients but especially the slightly stronger ones.
