Maoist leader surrenders in Jharkhand, gets 15 lakhs in reward

Jharkhand’s name of terror in Maoists, Kundan Pahan, surrendered himself in the state’s capital Ranchi. Kundan Pahan has more than 100 cases on his name which involves heinous crimes like the murder of a  Former Minister, Beheading police officers and looting 5 Crore from a cash van on the highway.

Known for his notorious activities, Kundan Pahan surrendered in the presence of Additional Director of Police (ADG) R.K. Mallick and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Inspector General Anand Latkar. He carried 15 lakhs reward on his head. By surrendering he himself got the amount of the reward which was announced for his head.

Kundan Pahan joined Maoist in 1999 at the early age of 16. He controlled various districts of Jharkhand and he became the household name of terror.

He surrendered under a special program by the Jharkhand police, where Maoist rebels are encouraged to surrender or face serious consequences if they decide not to do so. 107 Maoists have surrendered till now in the state, Kundan Pahan is the biggest fish in the net as of now.
