Mumbai Indian’s 130 runs target which was mainly contributed by Krunal Pandya looked easy for the Royal Pune team, who defeated Mumbai thrice in the tournament. Pune looked stable in the beginning with losing just a couple of wickets before 15 overs of the game. Victory looked simple when Dhoni and skipper Smith were rotating strikes in the middle overs. A sudden rise in asking rate put pressure on RPS and even the most versatile batsmen of the world were unable to take the heat.

Eleven runs required from Mitchel Johnson’s last over proved to be big when Smith got out on the second delivery. Mumbai did a splendid job in taking away the victory from RPS from their mouth.

The Indian Premier League ends with a spectacular jaw dropping game.

Man of the match: Krunal Pandya for his 47 (38)

Orange Cap (Most runs in the tournament) – David Warner/Sunrisers Hyderabad

Purple cap (Most Wickets in the tournament) – Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Sunrisers Hyderabad
