Authorities have arrested a suspect after 8 people including a sheriff were killed in the shooting in Mississippi.
Shootings occurred in three different homes on Saturday night in rural Lincoln County. Two homes are in Brookhaven and one is in Bogue Chitto. The area is 106 km from the capital Jackson, according to the reports.

Police official said charges have not yet been filed against the suspect and that it would be “premature” to discuss a motive.
The police have collected evidence from all the three homes.
It is still unclear whether the suspect knew the victims who are allegedly murdered from before or not.
