Djokovic looks to Nadal, Federer for a perfect comeback in Melbourne Park

Date:

One of the most thrilling, attended and exciting Grand Slam is all set to be served from Monday in Australia. With Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka back in the hunt for title, it is after months that these stars will be back on the court.

While Djokovic would be eager to continue his golden run at the Melbourne Park, he has won most number of titles here, it wouldn’t be easy. With Roger Feder back in the roaring form that we once were habitual of and Rafael Nadal also back after an injury that ruled him out of the last few weeks in 2017, it would be a daunting task to pocket the 4 million Australian dollar for any male player.

Federer and Nadal turned back the clock to share the 4 Grand Slams equally amongst themselves. Both of them won 6 titles each and were closely followed by 4th seeded Alexander Zverev Jr, who won 5 titles in his breakthrough year in the senior circuit.

Seeded first and second respectively in the first Grand Slam of the year, which was earlier a grass-court event, two greatest tennis players Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer can very well set up a rematch of last year’s epic final which was won by the Swiss legend in 5-sets, though the draw has made it really tough.

Federer told in a chat that he doesn’t enjoy going to draws as they make him nervous and that is exactly what happened. He faces plethora of talented players, talented because Federer is Federer, starting from the very first round.

The women’s section is still as open as any other Grand Slams were last year. Serena Williams, who won the trophy last year, missed out the next 3 Grand Slams of the year and skipped the hard court event as well.

The most anticipated thing to look out in women’s section is Maria Sharapova. The organisers drew a flak for replacing Serena with the Russian in the draw event but the 5-time Grand Slams winner is as thirsty as ever and only a second trophy in Melbourne will quench her thirst.

With most of the stars, except Serena, in the hunt, women’s section promises to be as competitive and mouth-watery as possible. Veteran Venus, who set up an all Williams final last year, has got the toughest possible draw but she has been doing it since more than 2 decades now and has the ability to do it once again.

Here’s the draw for men’s section
