Bug experts have discovered that a ladybird can fly as fast as a horse runs – up to 37 miles an hour. Scientists at the University of Hull, studying the bug, also discovered that ladybirds can stay in the air for up to two hours without landing.
The Syrian people continue to suffer as the deadly conflict in the country enters its fourth year. Since March 2011, this Middle Eastern nation has been caught in a deadly civil war. A civil war is an armed conflict between groups within a nation.
A new design for the £1 coin has been revealed which is said to be the most secure coin in the world. The new coin will be roughly the same size as the current one, but has 12 edges and is both gold and silver coloured. The current £1 coin was introduced in 1983. There are concerns that it has become too easy to copy illegally.
A section of the Yellow River in Inner Mongolia has been bombed to help prevent flooding. Part of the river had frozen over and the ice blocked the flow of water. More than 20 bombs were dropped by the Chinese military to break the ice.
Malaysia now has ships and planes from 26 countries to search an area the size of Australia for the Missing jetliner. Â Eleven days after contact was lost with Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, there has been minimal progress in determining precisely what happened or where the plane ended up.
