Ranbir Kapoor looks every bit as Sanjay Dutt in the new poster of ‘Sanju’

Date:

All eyes are on Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, titled Sanju. The teaser, which was released on Tuesday, has surprised everyone’s expectations and risen the curiosity for the film to another level.

Now as promised, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani shared a new poster of his upcoming film on Monday morning and we must say, Ranbir is a carbon copy of the Khalnayak actor when he was finally released from Pune’s Yerwada Jail in 2016. Featuring Ranbir as Sanjay in his 50s, Ranbir’s intriguing look and intense eyes perfectly encapsulates Sanjay’s persona in real life.

The filmmaker shared the poster and tweeted, “Ranbir as #Sanju! When he came out of Jail in 2016. Watch his complete story on June 29. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.”

Ranbir, who plays Sanjay Dutt in the biopic, has said he enjoyed playing Dutt as Munnabhai. “It was difficult to play was the young Sanju. There were more faces we had to show; the drugs and his mother’s loss. The fun was the Munna Bhai phase,” he said at the film’s teaser launch.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju also stars Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit theatres on June 29.
