Apple strikes deal with Volkswagen for driverless cars

Date:

Apple’s dream of entering the automobile industry seems to be coming true of creating a self-driven electric car to act as the pioneer of the next generation of automation.

For quite some time, Apple kept the concept a secret but now they have decided to bring it out in the open about the deal between the company with Volkswagen. The team is focusing on building a software that can enable the self-drive feature in the car.

Before this deal, Apple was on the verge of striking contracts with BMW and Mercedes-Benz as well to develop a fully-automatic self-driving car, however, things did not materialise between the companies.

The deal between Apple and Volkswagen, however, seems to be a promising one in which they plan to convert the new T6 Transporter vans into self-driving shuttles that could be used to take office employees.
