Principal and 3 others of UP school arrested for videos of girls’ toilet on social media

Date:

A principal of a school in Uttar Pradesh and three more people were arrested this Thursday after the videos of girls in the washroom were leaked out on social media. The matter became grave when a crowd of students and parents gathered in the school and began protesting in Maharajganj.

A team of police officials reached the location to arrest the principal of the school along with his brother and two teachers, who were also fired from the school.

Four of the accused have been put behind bars under sections of the IT Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

In the first rounds of investigations, it was discovered that the principal’s brother has put a camera in the girls’ washroom some time back. Two teachers of the same school spotted the camera and leaked its videos on social media. The teachers were then expelled from the school after which the videos were re-posted on social media.

On being asked by the police officials, the principal denied any information that she had about the hidden camera in the washroom.
