Salman Khan’s plea rejected for travelling abroad in Blackbuck poaching case

Date:

After Salman Khan was convicted in the blackbuck poaching case, the actor’s lawyer now has to move an application in the court of District and Sessions Judge Chandra Kumar Songara on Friday seeking a plea to go to abroad. The court heard this plea on August 4 and rejected it.

Salman Khan was convicted by a trial court on April 5 for killing the endangered animals in October 1998, when Bollywood movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ was being shot in the area. The court had acquitted his four co-actors from the film-  Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre.

Salman Khan spent two nights in Jodhpur Central Jail then before obtaining bail. The district and sessions court began the hearing the plea against that conviction a month later. As per provisions of the law, killing blackbucks can lead to imprisonment of up to six years under the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
