An announcement for the biopic on former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha, who died at the age of 68 on December 5 after a massive cardiac arrest, was made on Wednesday.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and announced about the late Chief Minister’s biopic.

The film will be helmed by award-winning Kollywood filmmaker Vijay of the ‘Madrasapattinam’ fame. The cast will be a mix of actors from Bollywood and South Indian film industry. The movie that will be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi will be focussing on her achievements both in the field on film and politics. The film will go on the floors on February 24, 2019 on her birth anniversary and the first look of the film will also be released on the same day.

Jayalalitha was fondly known as ‘Amma’. She became Tamil Nadu CM for the first time in 1991 after leaving Kollywood in 1982 when MGR was chief minister, Jayalalithaa joined the AIADMK, the party he founded. She was known as the “queen of Tamil cinema”.
