India defeats Nepal in Match 3 at the Deaf-ICC World Cup T20

A cracker of an innings smashing 55 runs of just 18 balls with 5 sixes and 4 fours by player of the match, Imran DccB and a whirlwind bowling spell by Manjeet Kumar who took 3 wickets in his 4 overs, which included two maidens and just five runs, delivered the host team its second consecutive victory in the ongoing Deaf ICC T20 World Cup 2018. The bowling was further aided by Nadeem Shaikh, who took 2 wickets in 3 overs, and gave away just ten runs.

After Nepal won the toss and decided to bat, the host team bundled out the neighbouring country’s team for 67 runs in 19.3 overs. The Indian innings that followed lasted just 4.5 overs within which no wicket was lost. At bat Imran was ably supported by Akash Singh who scored 11 runs from 11 balls taking India to 68 for no loss and victory.

On Sunday, the host team defeated South Africa in the opening game of the tournament. The next match will be between Australia and South Africa.

MP Singh, renowned cricket coach with the Sports Authority of India said, “The ground here is lush green and beautiful. The organisers have done a great job and the arrangements are absolutely perfect. Of the two or three teams I have seen practicing and playing, the quality of cricket is outstanding. Some of the players are just extraordinary. I look forward to the rest of the tournament and wish all the teams the best of luck and great success for this tournament.”

With teams from as many as 5 countries including the DCS team from India participating in the T20 World Cup over the seven-day-tournament vying for top honours, the Deaf-ICC T20 World Cup holders promises to be an exciting cricket series. The tournament, being held between 24th November and 30th November 2018 in the National Capital Region. Countries participating include Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and South Africa, apart from host DCS from India.
