Mercedes-AMG unveils the 2020 AMG GT at the LA Auto Show

Mercedes-AMG unveiled the new 2020 AMG GT at the 2018 LA Auto Show with upgrades in its styling, technology and performance.

The 2020 Mercedes AMG GT have 4 trims to it- the GT , GT C (coupe), GTR (roadster) and a new top range and even more beastly GTR Pro.

The 2020 AMG GT retains the Panamericana grille but is chiseled to be more angular at the edges and the headlights have also been refurbished. The AMG GT C is given a slight tweak on its rear, an all new tailpipe design and the new wing spoiler.

The interiors, although almost similar to the previous generation, have some new feature updates, thhe most significant changes being in the cockpit. It gets the new touchpad-based infotainment system and a wide 12.3-inch digital screen as standard. The steering wheel is given two touch-sensitive nubs through which one can control the functions on the instrument cluster and the 10.3-inch console-mounted screen. It also gets the AMG specific LCD display which integrates the controls for the performance and drive modes.

The performance of the 2020 Mercedes AMG GT has been improved with the new AMG Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) where the system gels with the drive modes to offer different level of settings- Basic, Advanced, Pro and Master.

The newest and wildest offering of the GT range is the GTR Pro which is more track focused and draws its cues from the AMG GT3 and GT4 race cars. It is equipped with a new coil-over suspension setup with manually adjustable dampers, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars and spherical bearings for the rear suspension’s lower and upper wishbones. It also gets carbon ceramic brakes and model specific bodywork which improves the aerodynamics.

The heart of the 2020 ANG GT remains the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged, V8 engine, with a power output of 462 bhp in the standard GT coupe and roadster while 542 bhp in the GT C coupe and roadster. The top ranging GTR and GTR Pro have the same engine tuned to churn out a staggering 570 bhp.
