About 100 million Quora users affected by data security breach

The company, Quora owned by Inc was formed in the year 2009 by Charlie Cheever and D’Angelo. According to a statement by Quora on Monday, around 100 million users of the platform were impacted by illegal access to a system by a suspicious arbitrator.

Primary account details such as names, email addresses, encoded passwords and other personal data when given permission by the users were probably breached, according to Quora. However, Quora is confident that the financial details of the users have not been compromised.

In an attempt to assist the users, the company said that it will log out all the users of the platform that have been possibly affected by the crime to prevent them from any further damage. The company also said that the main cause of the breach has been identified and steps will be taken to make security improvements.

The CEO of Quora, Adam D’Angelo said in a blog post, “we are in the process of notifying users whose data has been compromised.”

Discovered on Friday, the breach did not have any impact on the discussions and questions and answers that are posted by anonymous users. The law enforcement officials have also been alerted regarding the crime.
