5 tips to stay in shape when you have a hectic schedule

Fitness is an aspect of our lives we tend to take for granted prioritizing our work, family and personal lives ahead of it. Life tends to race past and we struggle to keep up with it and balance everything along with work.

Even if one has a hectic and busy schedule, fitness and keeping in shape help the body and the mind. Here are 5 simple tips that can help you workout even while your day is packed.

 

  1. Leisure time 

Once you spread out your day and figure out how much time you have for your leisure activities. You can be watching television and listening to music and along with that, you can take 15 mins to stretch out, do abs or a little bit of yoga.

 

2. Ditch the car, walk 

Running errands or stepping out for work? Ditch the car or bike and walk. If you take the train or bus, you can walk to the station and take public transport. You can make it a habit to walk for short distances as walking is not only a great exercise but also helps you relax.

3. Try healthy recipes 

While you’re busy, you tend to grab take away and rely on junk food. A little change in your lifestyle can help you eat better and more nutritious food. You can stock food with you, carry fruits, dry fruits and eat home cooked food as much as possible. There are many quick recipes available online and you can try some healthy recipes whenever you have time.

4. Workout with your partner or friends 

Working out alone can be more difficult and you may not be consistent. If you have a workout buddy, it can help you stay on course and keep yourself motivated. It is a great way to spend time with your partner and or friends if you join a gym or a class together.

5. Less can be more 

In case you have a packed schedule, you can squeeze in a high-intensity workout which takes lesser time but impacts the body better. Also, the idea is to be consistent and work out for atleast 5 days a week until it becomes a habit. You can do five min ab exercises or do kettlebell exercises and so on.
