Summer is almost here and we can already feel the temperatures rising indicating that the coming up months would be hotter than ever. In the preparation of the coming months, one would take on ways to beat the heat donning cooler colours and loose clothes, focusing on skin care and diet. It is a good idea to keep drinking water to keep your mind and body cool.

Apart from water, you can also try these other alternatives to keep yourself hydrated and cool.

  1. Coconut Water 

Coconut water or ‘nariyal paani’ is one of the best alternatives to water and to keep yourselves hydrated. It is pure and unadulterated and is mostly available everywhere easily. It not only quenches thirst but also revitalises the body.

2. Mint mojito

An easy fix in the summers and extremely tasty, ‘Mint mojito’ can be prepared at home and cools you down immediately. Just add mint leaves, lemon, crushed ice, sugar, water and soda in a blender and churn it well. Pour it in a glass and your cool refreshing beverage is ready.

3. Kokum sherbet

Kokum is often used in cooking and also for medicinal purposes.  It’s popular in the Konkan and Malvan region and in Goa. Kokum sherbet and sol kadhi is refreshing and is a great digestive drink.

4. Aam Panna

Aam Panna is a beverage that is made in summers and mostly in many households across India. It has gained popularity as it works like magic to bring the heat down. The Panna is made by extracting the pulp of boiled raw mangoes. Add mint leaves, crushed roasted cumin and water along with sugar.

5. Lassi 

Lassi is a staple beverage which is consumed with lunch and dinner in Indian households. The drink is said to be good for summers and can also be had in different flavours like mango lassi, strawberry lassi.
