UP’s Mahabharat LIVE: Mulayam calls Shivpal ‘leader of masses’, Amar Singh ‘my brother’

Lucknow: Among face-off between CM Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi party supremo and Mulayam Singh Yadav, for firing each other’s supporters Shivpal Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav on Monday discharged the rumors, saying he won’t float a new party.

“People are saying a new party will be formed. Who is forming is a new party? I am not,” said Akhilesh Yadav.

He also said that if Netaji had proposed him for resignation he would have given it.

Meanwhile, supporters of Akhilesh and Shivpal Yadav also clashed outside the party headquarters, ahead of a crucial meeting in Lucknow.

Camp supporters of Akhilesh and sacked Shivpal Yadav exchanged blows as tension uprisen before the meet. Police used force to scatter the shouting supporters who were attempting to break the cordon to step towards the party headquarters.

In a major turmoil on Sunday, Akhilesh sacked Shivpal Yadav, party’s state unit chief, along with three other “pro-Amar Singh” ministers from his Cabinet.
Later on, in a tit-for-tat action, Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled Ramgopal, SP’s national general secretary, from the party for six years.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav broke down as he addressed party workers and leaders at the big meeting called by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying, “Who is forming is a new party? I am not.

However, Mulayam Singh Yadav in the crucial meeting called Shivpal Yadav as ‘leader of masses’ and Amar Singh as his brother. He also said ‘I have worked hard for the party and People trust me.”

Admonishing Akhilesh, the party supremo said he had been abusing Amar Singh.

“Amar has helped me a lot. If Amar was not there I would have been in jail, he is like my brother,” Mulayam said, describing the Amar Singh as his brother.

He also added, “Some ministers are just sycophants.”

“I cannot forget the work done by Shivpal Yadav,” he said while describing Shivpal as a mass leader.

“We are facing difficult situation, we should remove our weakness and not fight with each other,” Mulayam said.
