Volvo has just stepped up the game of ‘luxury’ in the cars with the introduction of the S90 Excellence. The sedan will be manufactured in China and will make it’s public debut at the upcoming 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show.
The S90 Excellence is so much focused on the comfort and luxury of the rear passengers that in place of the front passenger seat, it carries a lounge console for the rear passenger that serves number of convenient and entertainment features to the person sitting behind.
The ultra-luxury feature list includes an adjustable footrest, built-in entertainment system with a large display, a built-in refrigeration compartment with handmade ‘Orrefors’ crystal glasses, heated & cooled cup holders, foldout work-tables and a large storage compartment. Upfront, the S90 Excellence also gets a big panoramic sunroof.
The S90 Excellence will come in a plug-in hybrid version packing a 316 hp twin charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine driving the front wheels paired with an 86 hp electric motor powering the rear wheels. For the comfort of the driver, it comes with a semi-autonomous driving assistance system that operates at the speed up to 130 km/h.
Volvo has also announced that the production of all the S90 sedan models will be shifted from Sweden to China and will be exported in other parts of the world from there.
